BOTTLED WATER RESOURCES

The American Water Works Association  

(AWWA), 6666 West Quincy Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80235, represents members who manufacture and supply pumps, pipes and system hardware primarily to the municipal water utilities. AWWA, along with the American Public Health Association and the Water Pollution Control Foundation, publish STANDARD METHODS FOR THE EXAMINATION OF WATER AND WASTEWATER, which is considered to be the premier reference book for laboratory water testing.

Beverage Industry

This monthly magazine published by

It includes classified ads for bottling equipment, employees and packaging materials as well.

Beverage Marketing

Beverage Marketing, 850 Third Avenue, New York, N.Y., Tel: 212-688-7640, produces an annual report, The U.S. Bottled Water Market & Packaging Report, which provides a breakdown of the U.S. bottled water market by segments. It provides comprehensive facts on both domestic and imported bottled water pricing, distribution, packaging and advertising expenditures. The report profiles leading brands, the demographics of the bottled water consumer and projections of the bottled water market.

The US Environmental Protection Agency

The Safe Drinking Water Act was established to protect the quality of drinking water in the U.S. This law focuses on all waters actually or potentially designed for drinking use, whether from above ground or underground sources.

The Act authorized EPA to establish safe standards of purity and required all owners or operators of public water systems to comply with primary (health-related) standards. The Freshwater Society

An international membership organization, which supports freshwater research and public information programs of the Freshwater Foundation, 2500 Shadywood Road, Box 90, Navarre Minnesota 55392. The Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 1968, which built and equipped the Grey Freshwater Biological Institute, a research center involved in the multi-disciplinary study of the complex problems of freshwater. In 1976, the Institute was donated to the University of Minnesota. The Foundation translates and interprets freshwater issues and their implications for the public through conferences, publications and television and radio programs.

The International Bottled Water Association

Founded in 1958, The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) is a trade association for the bottled water industry, representing manufacturers and distributors of both domestic and imported bottled water. IBWA members receive the Bottled Water Reporter, a bi-monthly magazine that updates news about bottled water legislation and addresses the business concerns of the bottled water industry. Members also receive the IBWA Technical Manual, which provides detailed information on processing and quality control techniques. IBWA holds an annual convention, which features a trade show and speakers discussing many aspects of the industry.

U.S. Water News

U.S. Water News is a monthly newspaper with editorial offices at 230 Main Street, Halstead, KS 67056. Current national water events and other water-related issues, such as supply, quality, policy, legislation, water rights, litigation, conservation and even water stocks are reported.

Water Conditioning & Purification Magazine

WC&P has been published since 1959 and provides expert information about the water industry. From creative marketing, international focus, regulatory updates, to company profiles, and insightful features on bacteria, equipment, and global issues, WC&P is must reading. Water Technology

Water Technology magazine is written and designed for water treatment professionals. The October issue usually has a bottled water focus to coincide with the annual IBWA convention.
